All manuscripts submitted to Applied Artificial Intelligence and Engineering Journal (AEIJ) undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and academic contribution of the published articles.

AEIJ applies a double-blind peer review system in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process. This process is intended to maintain objectivity, fairness, and academic integrity.

Initial Editorial Review

After submission, the manuscript will first be evaluated by the editorial team to ensure that:

  • The manuscript fits within the journal’s focus and scope.
  • The manuscript follows the journal’s author guidelines and formatting requirements.
  • The submission meets basic academic writing standards.
  • The manuscript is free from plagiarism and unethical publication practices.

Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be rejected before the peer-review stage.

Peer Review Stage

Eligible manuscripts will be sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers will evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including:

  • Originality and novelty of the research
  • Scientific and technical quality
  • Relevance to the journal scope
  • Clarity of presentation and organization
  • Validity of methodology and analysis
  • Significance of findings and contribution to knowledge

Reviewers may recommend one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Accept with major revisions
  • Reject

Revision Process

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ and editors’ comments. Revised manuscripts should be resubmitted within the specified timeframe along with a response letter explaining the revisions made.

The revised manuscript may be returned to the reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.

Final Decision

The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance is made by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned editors based on reviewers’ recommendations and the overall quality of the manuscript.

Publication

Accepted manuscripts will undergo copyediting, proofreading, and layout editing before publication. AEIJ publishes articles online according to the journal publication schedule in January and July.

The journal is committed to maintaining a fair, timely, and professional peer-review process to support high-quality academic publishing.
